Catia Lopes is the Director of Clinical Operations at Amana Healthcare Bahrain, bringing over 18 years of experience in clinical care, healthcare management, and nursing leadership. With a strong foundation in emergency and specialized care including stroke and spinal cord care, her expertise lies in optimizing clinical systems, driving operational excellence, and enhancing patient and family experiences. Her deep understanding of care delivery and commitment to patient-centered approaches position her to support Bahrain’s Vision 2030 goals by advancing healthcare quality, efficiency, and accessibility.
Prior to joining Amana Healthcare Bahrain, Catia held progressive leadership roles within M42’s network in the UAE, where she led initiatives to streamline workflows, implement strategic projects, and improve patient safety and satisfaction across multiple facilities. She began her career in Portugal as an emergency nurse before transitioning into healthcare management, steadily advancing through nursing management and clinical operations roles since relocating to the UAE in 2014. Her clinical journey has included specializations in emergency nursing, stroke and spinal cord care.
Catia holds a Bachelor of Nursing and a Master's in Healthcare Administration from the prestigious ISCTE Business School in Lisbon.
